Government Engineering College (Formerly Institute of Road and Transport Technology), Vasavi College Post, Erode District 638316

Government College of Engineering Erode is one of the educational institutions developed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. This college was established in 1984 as the Institute of Road and Transport Technology in Erode district on a lush green campus of 200 acres.

• Later the institute was converted into a Government college.
• Like most government colleges, this institute was started with the objective of providing better educational opportunities for the most backward people in its surroundings.
