    Eligibility

    • Indian citizens aged 17+ by December 31, 2026 qualify; no upper limit except 25 for Marine Engineering.​
    • Pass Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/Computer Science; 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).​

    Syllabus

    • Chemistry: Atoms/molecules, periodic table, bonding, coordination compounds, thermodynamics, p-block, organic compounds like haloalkanes, biomolecules.​

    • Matches Class 11-12 WBCHSE/equivalent; high-weightage: Physics (current electricity 7%, thermodynamics 6%), Chemistry (kinetics 7%), Math (vectors/probability 7%).​

    Exam Pattern

    • Offline, 4 hours: Paper 1 (Math, 100 marks, 75 questions), Paper 2 (Physics/Chemistry, 100 marks, 80 questions).
    • Categories: I (50+25 MCQs, +1/-0.25 each subject), II (single correct, +2/-0.5), III (multi-correct, +2 partial/full).​
    • Total 155 MCQs, 200 marks; no negative for Category III partials; English/Bengali medium.​
