Chengalpattu Medical College, Chengalpattu.
Chengalpattu Medical College dates back to 1965 when it was a district headquarters hospital with a facility in town. The Tamil Nadu government refurbished this District Headquarters hospital in 1965, converting it into a teaching facility with 250 clinical beds. Vedachalam Mudaliar, the then-Chairman of Chengalpattu Municipality, gave a large amount of land to this institution. Today, the college is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and is completely governed by the Tamil Nadu government. The Institute is a Medical Teaching Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India in New Delhi, India. The college upholds the motto of Discipline, Service, and Sacrifice.
